This is an explanation of how I created this video.
First I took some film I shot of of ink in a water tank then using Brightness, levels and a chroma keyer I removed the grays from the background. Then I inverted the film and rotated it 180degrees. Finally I added a sparkling effect.
I thought I would point out what I do with the Project Faust videos and how I make them. With this video I had some film from Wales of the coast. I had the idea to make it look like a WW2 film scene.
I made the video black and white, edited on a WW2 war ship, then added some reflections in the water. Finally I made the original video very red, before the black and white, this makes the black and white film appear to be night time with black and white film.
Child Child’s second EP called ‘Tveir‘ is out for free download on SoundCloud now or .RAR featuring seven new tracks and one new remix by Jason Dragon. There are around 50 tracks recorded and we are editing them down into the forthcoming album ‘Cliff Child‘ to release in the Summer. Some of these make up the EP’s Einn and the new Tveir.

I recently took a trip to California, while there I took a lot of photos and film. The film ended up in a youtube video [see below] and the photos I made into a book you can buy via Blurb.

A rare view of the London Underground from the view of the drivers cab. The footage was filmed by Youtube user poshJosh69. The stations have been cut up so they are not in sequence as it would hinder terrorism. Video edited by Robjn.

Task:
To make an animation for Canon Blue’s track Pilguin Pop using animated type. The type appears with graphic swirls and other effects on the page as the camera pans over it all.

Task:
To create a set of blips for the songs from the album Departure by Laserlong. A blip is a short advert without a structured message and where the music act as an audio preview. See more at the Laserlong youtube page.
Task:
Make a video for the song that is 3mins and 40 seconds of instrumental.
Without any particular brief I used slow capture photos to make an animation. In total I used around 3500 photos. I used different styles of capture throughout.

To try out a idea I had about text and videos I wanted to see if I could make a video without any human figures and still keep it interesting to watch. I started to use text forming in patterns and moving across the screen. The background is the roof top of a car park.
Task:
Using B-filter cameras and painting with light [only what light is shown is exposed] I created this video. It was shot in Park Street Car Park, Cambridge. UK.

As a hobbie I make short videos based on my everyday life. I called these ‘Project Faust’.

Task:
As part of the D&AD Create a finished promo for Thom Yorke’s track “The Clock”.
Mandatory requirements: You can do whatever you like but the promo must be a finished piece for the full duration of the track. Your visuals must follow the music you can take the lyrics into account, reflecting the overall message of the song, but the priority is the music. Finally, remember to keep things simple!

A video I have made for my remix of the Eno/Byrne song. I made this video by trying to make the video appear to be underwater.
Task:
Illustrating some poems I like for representation on a page in a new way.
I wished for these images to be printed as the whole page of a book. To make the page be the image and you to read the images text as you would a books.
Task:
Re-edit the “Never Win” for Fischerspooner to the “Mirwais Alt Remix” version of the song. After being shipped the original files I edited it up and added effects to the video and the audio. I also re-edited the Audio.
The video was shown on European Television Stations and was the main video version for France. The “Mirwais Alt Remix” was the Single version in Europe.

Task:
As a University Project we had to subvert or change a advert in its style or presentation. I choose to recreate the Sharwoods Sauce adverts. This was my first attempt at video editing. June 2006.
