My friend Shaun Wallace has set up a mobile recording business and he asked me to make him a website. It needed few pages and to look unique and fun!
I made him a ‘marvellous machine’ made out of musical instruments based on traditional travelling fair organs to keep the mobile theme and used bunting to show his name. I made a light background of rainbow colours focusing on the machine with a burst of brightness in the centre. Finally I used a ‘.pgn’ to mirror the machine as if standing on a glass floor, in an Apple store style. With Animation Shop 3 I edited the animation partials of the website such as the organ and amp lights. Below is a screenshot of the website, details, background and early renditions and stages of my design. See the site here: www.shaunwallace.com

Task:
My Final Project at University was to brand an Ethanol Fuel Company in a new way that is apart from Fossil Fuel companies but make it look traditional. In the PDF below I show the whole process of looking at modern abstract logos to visually simple brands.

Task:
As part of a University self promotion project I had to create a ‘wacky’ item to send to prospective employers. I created a foe medical box with creative pills inside [smarties]. This also got me to render artwork ready to send to printers with two tone colouring, box grids and machine cutting and scoring outlines as well as inserts for instructions with my details on them.

Task:
A University project was to make a modern image for Bizet’s “Carmen”. The brief was to subvert the meaning of the play by inventing the theatre company who would perform the play, and then invent there interpretation of the play. Then make the poster for the production.
Below: A feature for serial advertising with the images progressing into the next frame, like the scenes of a play.

Task:
As part of my university projects I had to make a campaigns for company that I should invent. Most people choose drinks or cars but I wanted to see what could be done about rape. I invented a company called “Rape Line” it could have been translated into any helpline but in my mind it was a uni-sexual rape helpline. So the adverts had to work in many ways.
The advert has a main line of the same of a person who would be the attacker or the victim and then a stapling for the helpline. It is two lines that saves explanation of what has happened and leaves it to the viewer to imagine what has happened. The first for the campaign would have been a uni-sexual name such as Sam. The photos taken at night also give the limited perspective.

Task:
A visual advert with a hard hitting message was another project I had done for university. Using balloons as a metaphor for people and blood cells. the notion of there being one odd balloon or cell helps people think “it could be you”. Again it’s using a image to say what all the words can’t.

Task:
As a University Project we had to subvert or change a advert in its style or presentation. I choose to recreate the Sharwoods Sauce adverts. This was my first attempt at video editing. June 2006.

Task:
Design a advert and booklet for the website cbgay.com
The www.cbgay.com booklet was a social guide for the Cambridge UK LGBT community and featured adverts for any social event. My task was to over see the design of the whole product and to design adverts for clubs or social groups that didn’t have any adverts themselves as well as form a image for the booklet in coordination with the website.
